Detachment (2011)

Henry Barthes, a withdrawn substitute teacher, accepts a temporary assignment at a troubled public high school. While struggling with painful memories and avoiding emotional attachment, he gradually connects with neglected students, overwhelmed colleagues, and a vulnerable runaway teenager. Their lives challenge his emotional isolation and force him to confront compassion, responsibility, and despair.
